Court: Inadequate recordkeeping makes pharmacist responsible for pharm tech’s massive theft

This is awful and seems like it could happen to almost anyone under the right circumstances. Automating recordkeeping with an RxSafe system or inventory management software could have easily prevented both the theft and the legal consequences for this pharmacist.

A California appeals court has upheld the California Board of Pharmacy’s (CBOP) discipline against a pharmacist who supervised a pharmacy technician who stole more than $1 million worth of painkillers.
